Shocking Discoveries– Stopping The Illegal Wildlife Trade

Thanks to your incredible support, our partners at the Orangutan Information Centre (OIC) are making powerful strides in protecting endangered wildlife. Thanks to you, they recently uncovered two shocking cases of illegal wildlife trade in North Sumatra and Aceh.

The first discovery was devastating. Our team found the skins of a tiger and a sun bear in North Aceh, along with tiger bones– evidence of brutal poaching. These magnificent creatures should be roaming free, not falling victim to ruthless traffickers.

But here's the good news. Thanks to your support, three people have been arrested for the crime. This is a powerful step toward protecting precious wildlife from future harm.

The second bust was equally tragic. An enormous illegal shipment of pangolin scales has been intercepted in North Sumatra. Our team uncovered a devastating 1.2 tons of scales. Stolen from a species that is already struggling to survive.

This is the largest recorded case of illegally traded pangolin scales in Indonesia to date.

Pangolins are gentle creatures, and are sadly the world’s most trafficked mammals. They are poached for their meat and scales, which are believed to have medicinal properties.

Thanks to your support, four people have been arrested. They now await trial, facing serious charges for their crimes against wildlife.

Thank You For Making This Possible

Your generosity is making real change happen. Because of you, we are exposing illegal wildlife trade and holding poachers accountable. This work is dangerous but essential, and we couldn’t do it without you.

With your continued support, our team can:

  • Expand investigations into illegal wildlife trade
  • Help strengthen local law enforcement
  • Intercept traffickers and prevent further poaching

Every action you take– whether by donating, sharing this story, or spreading awareness– brings us one step closer to stopping the illegal wildlife trade. For good!

Thank you for being a wonderful champion for wildlife!
