Asto and Asih are thriving at our SRA rehabilitation centre in North Sumatra.

They have become more independent, and they love their regular Jungle School outings. They continue to improve their climbing, foraging and nest building skills. Asto and Asih eat a wide range of forest food including fruits, leaves, bark, flowers and insects.
Being the younger of the two, Asih often sticks close to Asto, which can sometimes get on Asto's nerves! In true cheeky fashion, Asih has also been known to sneak into Asto’s nest after she’s done all the hard work of building it.
Both Asto and Asih are always full of curiosity and enthusiasm, especially when they receive new enrichment activities in their enclosure. They absolutely love hidden sunflower seeds in banana stems and can’t get enough of whole fruits like durian. But there’s one thing they both agree on—they’re not fans of cabbage!
As the girls grow and become more independent and skilled at Jungle School, it has also become very difficult to get them in the same photo!
